Young Addaction put together a Super Lifesaving Day with various partner organisations at the Atrium a large space at the Learning Exchange City of Liverpool College on 21st March. 243 students were trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic First Aid. Young Addaction arranged five stages of training with practitioners from St John Ambulance (with two youth trainers), Royal Life Saving Society UK, and British Red Cross. The stages consisted of CPR for adults, recovery position, CPR for babies and children and how to deal with Choking and Bleeding. Different scenarios were discussed, including alcohol and drug intoxication and drowning. This was a successful day working in collaboration with lifesaving organisations. All students gained a basic CPR certificate and gained knowledge and practical lifesaving experience, this could enable them to prevent injury and act in an emergency and also encourage students to consider further training or employment in lifesaving work.
