All Awarding Organisations (AO) who wish to deliver regulated First Aid Qualifications have signed up to a set of Assessment Principles. This means that in order for AO’s to be able to deliver regulated First Aid qualifications they have to be able to demonstrate that they are working to these Assessment Principles and is the reason why all Trainer Assessors must be working towards or hold a AET or equivalent qualification. These Assessment Principles have been produced by Awarding Organisations/Bodies in cooperation with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Qualification Regulators and are supported by Skills for Health. Part of these principles outline acceptable qualifications for training and assessing and the document can be found at www.skillsforhealth.org.uk
