The National Speed Championships, the largest competition of its kind in the UK, sees lifesaving athletes aged 12 and upwards from across the UK and Ireland competing for national titles in what is the only sport that has a humanitarian foundation.
The sporting competition helps promote lifesavers’ skills, knowledge and techniques and also plays an important role in spreading the RLSS UK water safety messages as the Drowning Prevention charity.
Events include the manikin carry, line throw and obstacle, with both individuals and teams competing, click here for more information.
Dates: 03 – 04 March 2018
Taking all factors into consideration RLSS UK have made the difficult decision to cancel National Speed Lifesaving Championships 2018 and the National Rookie Festival.
We will be contacting your Team Managers to make sure they are aware of the situation.
We understand that this is extremely disappointing for all the teams and athletes who were due to compete in the event, given the amount of training and preparation that is involved but know people will understand that the safety of everyone, is our primary concern.
