Ragley Crawl, Open Water Swimming Festival

The RLSS UK Open Water Swimming Festival, #RagleyCrawl, is returning to Ragley Hall for its fourth year on Sunday 3 June 2018.
This swimming event will consist of a One-Mile event, a Half-Mile event and a 400m swim. The event is open to all ages, encouraging everyone from first-time dippers to regular participants to get in and enjoy the freedom of the open water. The Rookie Raid will also return with a 200m swim and a 400m run, aimed at those between 8 and 12 years old.
Ragley Crawl offers the fun of an open water swimming event that everyone can enjoy in a safe, controlled environment. The day will be bursting with family activities and refreshments – all in the aid of drowning prevention. There is a competitive element, but whatever your motivation, we know you will enjoy the experience and better still, you will be supporting RLSS UK to deliver drowning prevention messages and expand safer open water swimming opportunities across the UK. *Suitable for swimmers of all abilities and any stroke. Wetsuits are compulsory unless you are wearing a tow float. Tow floats will be available to hire on the day.

The One-Mile Swim will comprise two large laps (600m) and one small lap (400m)
The Half-Mile Swim will comprise two small laps (400m)
The 400m Swim will comprise of one small lap (400m)
Rookie Raid will follow a straight line 200m course, parallel to the bank of the lake, followed by a short run over grass (shoes compulsory)

The magnificent Ragley Hall, a Grade I listed Palladian mansion, dates back to 1680. Ragley is the family home of the 9th Marquess and Marchioness of Hertford.
400 acres of parkland and gardens offer a variety of settings depending upon the time of year. A romantic Rose Garden, a Winter Garden, not to mention a spring-bulb bank, summer meadow, woodland walk and sculpture collection can also be enjoyed.
The Ragley Estate also boasts a Grade I listed stables, farm buildings, a sawmill, vast woodlands, a butchers, an adventure playground, 3D maze and a boating lake.
Situated on the Warwickshire and Worcestershire boarder, Ragley is centrally located and easily accessible from the M40, M42 M6 and M5 motorways – less than 1 hour from Birmingham and just 2 1/2 hours from Central London.
