Lifeguard industry leader launches new product for the next Generation of Pool Lifeguards
IQL UK, trading subsidiary of the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) and industry leader in lifeguarding training is proud to be launching their latest pool lifeguard qualification (NPLQ). The NPLQ is the UK’s most awarded pool lifeguard qualification in the UK and remains the gold standard for lifeguarding.
Martin Symcox, Director of IQL UK and Water Safety Management said: “We are extremely proud of the new qualification which will help leisure operators to keep swimming pools in the UK as safe as they possibly can be. As the leading water safety provider in the UK we work tirelessly to ensure that our customers are equipped with the most up to date industry knowledge and transfer our expertise.
He continued: “The NPLQ Generation 9 is the most robust pool lifeguard qualification available and ensures lifeguards are equipped with the most update training to ensure they are prepared to work in the leisure industry.”
The NPLQ ‘Generation 9’ is the first qualification to be endorsed by CIMSPA against the CIMSPA Professional Standard for Lifeguards. Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA commented: “I would like to congratulate our awarding organisation partner IQL UK on their achievement with NPLQ Generation 9. The job role of lifeguards is hugely important, and having their iconic qualification aligned to the sector’s professional standard is a real milestone in our workforce development project.”
Generation 9 pool lifeguards will now receive AED basic training and assessment as part of their qualification and a new anaphylaxis qualification is now available to add the NPLQ qualifications. There is also information on technological developments and how lifeguards should address factors such as pool safety systems, smart devices and using the new PXB extraction board.
